Don't want the hassle of caring for merino, but still want all the warmth? The Firefly ticks all the boxes. We scoured the world for many months looking for someone to make our design a reality, we finally found someone with our ethos for making great functional products. The Firefly utilizes 200gsm microfleece on the interior to wick away moisture, while the addition of a spandex/polyester smooth outer layer allows the Firefly to stretch and move as you do on any outdoor pursuit.

Most base layers have one fabric thoughout which wasn’t good enough for us, so we equpped the upper flanks and under the arms of the Firefly have more breathable eyelet fabric to let those hot areas breath better. We’ve also added a drop tail so when your bending over the Firefly stays in place. Finally, just in case people ask where you got this beauty we've added a Silversky logo to the arm.

In trialling this product we replaced two polypropylene layers with one (more comfortable) Firefly. Also perfect for running, hiking, skiing or other outdoor activities where warmth and comfort are key.

Recommended use: Winter and early spring late autumn. Sub 13 degrees.

Material: Brushed Polyester 90%, 10% Spandex

  • Warm water wash
  • Wash similar colours together
  • Do not soak
  • Do not use fabrics conditioners
  • Do not brush
  • Do not dry clean
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not bleach

Your height and weight are the best guide to your size for cycling tops. The upper end of the range will be tighter and the lower of the range looser. Remember tops are mostly slim fit and are designed that way to take moisture away from the body, if you prefer a looser fit go up one size.

    Money well spent
    I've wasted my time (and money) on cheap polypropylene base layers. This cleans them up for warmth and styling. Would definitely buy another in the unlikely event this wears out.

    It's warm...really warm
    Great...like its says on the tin its made for cold conditions. Using mine for night riding in Wellington with a winter jacket over the top. Warm all the time, it's great.

    Top performer during the Wellington winter!
    The past 2 weekends I have used this top to complete long runs up mountains, in the worst of the Wellington winter of wind and rain! I would have been lost without this top and probably shivering all the way home! Just this top and a shower/wind jacket and I was absolutely fine! Highly recommend.

    Extra Warm Indeed!
    Exactly what it says - extra warm. If the air is just a little chill, this is not the top to rock... but on those mornings when you can't feel your fingers after 5 minutes of ride time despite the winter gloves and your cheeks and nose are a brighter red than your tail-light, having this bad-boy on will ensure a warm and cozy core. With the southern hemisphere winter looming, this is just the ticket for tackling the old Wellington southerly (a wind that blows directly from the Antarctic) head on.
